Week 6 Semaglutide Update – Small Changes, Staying Consistent

Today I took my 6th semaglutide shot. I moved up slightly from 0.42 mg to 0.48 mg this week. There was a bit of confusion at the clinic—the tech mentioned 4.8 mg, but from everything I’ve researched, that doesn’t line up with standard dosing. I’ll be confirming with my doctor to make sure I fully understand exactly what I’m taking.

My Favorite Protein Powder

One thing I will say is that I’m sticking with this clinic because they already treat me for Hashimoto’s and my TRT program, so there’s some trust and consistency there. That matters to me, even though the cost is about $110 per week per injection, which definitely adds up.

Weight Progress

This week didn’t show much movement on the scale.

  • Week 4: dropped about 4.5 lbs
  • Week 6 weigh-in: 268.3 lbs

So this week was basically flat.

That said, I’m starting to understand that this process isn’t perfectly linear. I’m seeing more of a “drop, hold, drop” pattern, which I’ve heard is pretty common with semaglutide.

Side Effects

The side effects have improved a lot.

  • Week 1: pretty rough, felt sick often
  • Week 5–6: minimal side effects

The biggest thing now is actually the opposite—I forget to eat. I have to be intentional about getting food in, which is a completely different mindset compared to before starting this.

Exercise Update

I made it back to the gym again today, which is a big win.

  • Recumbent bike (low impact for my joints)
  • Light dumbbell work

After today’s workout, I did feel a little queasy, but it passed after resting for a few minutes. I’m still learning how my body reacts to combining exercise with the medication.

My goal this week:
👉 3 workouts total

Nothing crazy—just building consistency.

Overall Thoughts

Even though the scale didn’t move much this week, I still feel like progress is happening:

  • Appetite is controlled
  • Side effects are manageable
  • Activity level is increasing

Right now, it feels like I’m laying the foundation for the next drop in weight.

What’s Next

I’m planning to:

  • Stay at this dose for at least another week (possibly longer)
  • Get 3 workouts in
  • Monitor how my hunger and energy feel at this level

Also, I’m working on setting up a sign-up option on the site so you can follow along with these updates each week.

If you’re going through something similar, or just starting out, stick with it. The process isn’t always fast—but it is working.

Stay tuned for Week 7.
