Why I Started The 275 project

I stepped on the scale and saw 283 pounds.

That number hit harder than I expected. It wasn’t just the weight — it was everything that came with it. High blood pressure. Borderline high glucose. Gout. Thyroid medication. It all starts to stack up, and at some point you have to be honest with yourself.

A few days later, I had an appointment at the VA. During that visit, I was offered a medication called Semaglutide.

At first, I didn’t want it.

I felt like taking something like that was cheating. Like I should be able to figure it out on my own — eat better, move more, just “have more discipline.” That’s what we’re all told, right?

But the reality is, I’ve been down that road before.

And here I am, back at 283.

So I started asking myself a different question:
What if it’s not about cheating… what if it’s about finally using the tools that actually work?

After that, I went to my naturopath doctor and decided to start on a compounded version of semaglutide. Not as a shortcut — but as part of a real attempt to change things for good.

That’s where this project comes in.

The 275 Project isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being honest. It’s about documenting what actually happens when someone like me — dealing with real health issues, a busy life, and years of failed attempts — decides to try again.

I’m not a fitness expert.
I’m not a nutritionist.

I’m just someone who got tired of seeing the same number on the scale… and decided to do something different.

I know I’m not the only one in this position.

There are a lot of people out there wondering:

  • Does semaglutide actually work?
  • What does it feel like week to week?
  • Why does weight sometimes not move… and then suddenly drop?
  • Can someone like me actually stick with this?

This blog is where I’m going to answer those questions — in real time.

No filters. No fake transformations. No pretending it’s easy.

Just the truth of what works, what doesn’t, and what this process actually looks like.

Starting weight: 283 lbs
Current weight: 269 lbs

I started Semeglutide at 275 pounds.

Let’s see where it goes.
